Workshop to strengthen the capacity of the Pamodzi Kuthetsa Nkhanza (PKN)

A workshop was held in Lilongwe to strengthen the capacity of the Pamodzi Kuthetsa Nkhanza (PKN) Malawi Consortium in Behaviour Analysis for the Theory of Change. The session brought together key partners under the consortium to explore how behaviour change approaches can be integrated into their work to prevent violence against women and girls.

The workshop was co-facilitated by the Consortium Lead Organisation, Women’s Legal Resources Centre (WOLREC), in collaboration with Amanda Bangura, Technical Advisor from Social Development Direct (SD Direct). Participants were guided through practical frameworks and tools to help them map behaviours that influence program outcomes, with a focus on grounding interventions in evidence and context.

Support for the workshop was provided by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) through its flagship initiative – What Works to Prevent Violence: Impact at Scale (What Works 2). This support underscored a shared commitment to delivering scalable, evidence-based solutions that drive real and lasting change in communities affected by gender-based violence.

The PKN Malawi Consortium  comprising WOLREC, GENET, and WAG  reaffirmed its dedication to collective learning and collaboration. The workshop created space for reflection, learning, and strengthened partnerships, all aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of violence prevention efforts across Malawi.
