Members of the Pamodzi Kuthetsa Nkhaza (PKN) project consortium convened in Dedza for a transformative training session centered on the Gender Transformative Curriculum. The session brought together staff from Women’s Legal Resources Centre (WOLREC), Girls Empowerment Network (GENET), and Women and Girls (WAG) Disability Rights to build their capacity to challenge harmful gender norms and promote safer communities for women and girls in Malawi.

Participants engaged in intensive, interactive sessions aimed at strengthening their ability to deliver the curriculum to duty bearers across project communities. The training emphasized the importance of confronting social and cultural beliefs that fuel violence against women and girls, while also providing practical tools to encourage positive behavior change.
Beyond professional development, the training offered an opportunity for personal reflection. Staff were guided to examine their own attitudes, values, and behaviors in order to cultivate a deeper understanding of how these factors influence their work. This internal shift was seen as essential to providing meaningful and transformative support to survivors of gender-based violence.

The session concluded with participants demonstrating increased confidence and commitment to advancing gender equality. With a stronger foundation in gender transformative approaches, the PKN consortium strengthened its readiness to lead impactful interventions aimed at ending violence against women and girls.
